Static stress analysis and linear buckling analysis of ship un-loader
 

On behalf of BMH Marine AB in Bjuv, Ingenjörsdata AB has performed static stress calculations and linear buckling analyses of a ship un-loader. The FE model of the ship un-loader was built by beam and shell elements.

The equivalent stress (von Mises) from around 50 different load cases was checked against the sizing code. The assessment and compilation of results, from all shell elements, was performed by FATEVAS (Ingenjörsdata AB).



The figure shows the maximum, ranging over all load cases, utilisation factor for each element, in a cut out of the outer part of the horisontal arm.
